Department of Veterans Affairs North Chicago VA Police, Hines VA Hospital, and Jesse Brown VA Hospital require access to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Law Enforcement Agency Data System (LEADS) supplied through the Illinois State Police. To be successful, the VAMC Police and its personnel must have timely access to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/ Law Enforcement Agency Data System (LEADS) supplied through the Illinois State Police. A. Lovell FHCC Police are mandated by statute and executive order to carry out law enforcement activities which include the safety and security of the Federal Health Care Center and criminal investigations throughout the facility and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC). The Police service protects Veterans, Patients, their families, Employees, Active-Duty Military and visitors of the facility. The department provides protection and services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the calendar year. Police Officers at all locations have full law enforcement authorization on all property owned or controlled by the VA Police locations. The Police investigate all criminal activity inside all VA Medical Centers and the Federal Health Care Center, and all property owned or controlled by the VAMC centers.
