Background The Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM) relies on the CLC Genomics Workbench to support molecular diagnostics, bioinformatics analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and Sanger sequencing data, and validated clinical workflows for human, mouse, and microbial genomes. The software provides integrated analysis tools that are essential for patient testing, research, and laboratory operations. Sole Source Rationale QIAGEN LLC is the exclusive provider of the CLC Genomics Workbench software and associated maintenance services. The existing software has been validated within DLM's clinical laboratory environment. Replacing the software with an alternate product would require extensive revalidation of laboratory workflows, increase costs, interrupt clinical operations, and could delay patient diagnosis and treatment. Contracting Officer may solicit from a single source when only one source is reasonably available to satisfy the Government's
