The Department of Health and Human Services is contracting for an annual service contract for the Nanostring GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler instrument, which is essential for studying tissue heterogeneity and microenvironments related to alcohol-induced organ injury and fibrosis models. The service will support multiple labs at NIAAA in their ongoing projects by maintaining the instrument that profiles RNA and protein expression from tissue compartments. Key requirements include maintenance and repair services for this specialized laboratory equipment.
We purchased the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler (DSP) instrument to study tissue heterogeneity and the complexity of microenvironments in the spatial context related to alcohol-induced organ injury and in various fibrosis models. GeoMx DSP is the only spatial biology platform that non-destructively profiles the expression of RNA and protein from distinct tissue compartments and cell populations with an automated and scalable workflow that integrates with standard histology staining. This technique will help us discover novel biomarkers for disease severity, understand disease mechanisms and progression, uncover drug mechanisms of action, and study preclinical models. Currently, multiple labs at NIAAA plan to use this instrument for their ongoing projects. Vishnuvajjala Hanumanth Rao Contracting ., SUITE 503L (No Street Address
