Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Strategic Acquisition Center - Frederick, intends to negotiate and award a sole source, Firm-Fixed-Price contract to HurtVet, Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), for fire alarm and security system inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, emergency response and repair, and 24/7 central station monitoring services in support of the VA Quantico Information Technology Center (QITC), Buildings 5101 and 5107, Russell Road, Quantico, Virginia. The resulting contract will include a base period of twelve (12) months, with four (4) twelve-month option periods, for a total potential

period of performance not to exceed five (5) years. This action is contemplated under the authority of 38 U.S.C. § 8127 and VAAR 819.7008, which authorizes VA

contracting officers to restrict competition to, or set aside an acquisition for, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, and to make sole source awards to SDVOSBs when the applicable statutory and regulatory conditions are met. Basis for Sole Source The Government intends to award to HurtVet, Inc. on a sole source basis after determining that this SDVOSB is a responsible source capable of performing the requirement, and that award to this firm is appropriate under the authorities cited above.
