Contracting Office – Pacific (MRCO-P) intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to: Pathology Consultants, Inc. 1650 Cowles Street Fairbanks, AK 97701 CAGE Code: 6T3F0 The authority for this non-competitive simplified acquisition action is 41 USC 1901(e)(2). In accordance with FAR 12.102(a), the government documented its decision that only one source is reasonably available to provide the required pathology testing services for Bassett Army Community Hospital (BACH), Fort Wainwright Alaska. The basis for this decision is that Pathology Consultants, Inc. is the only source capable of meeting the government’s requirement because it is the only source that can meet the required turnaround time

requirements for pathology testing and provider-to-provider consultation due to its physical proximity to BACH. Turnaround time

requirements for patient care and patient safety of 24 – 48 hours is required to meet College of Pathologist and Joint Commission standards. Interested parties who believe they can satisfy the
