08 April 2026, 14 contractors were competitively awarded the Andromeda MAC IDIQ. Shortly before the award decision, the space reconnaissance and surveillance budget for Fiscal Year 2027 was significantly increased to address the escalating threat environment projected for CY 2030+. The revised budget results in increased demand for the same
requirements already encompassed within the Andromeda MAC IDIQ. In order to avoid an unacceptable delay to the planned delivery orders and face potential mission critical impacts, it was in the Government’s best interest to complete the Andromeda source selection and pursue a sole source justification to increase the ceiling to ensure there is sufficient capacity to acquire the same type of
requirements authorized by the budget increase and unknown future U.S. and Foreign Military Sales
requirements. The Andromeda MAC IDIQ intends for on-ramping provisions to add new, qualified contractors to the pool on an annual basis. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on this notice or to otherwise pay for information received in response to this notice.
