Financial Services Agents examine tax issues that are national in scope, significant in dollars, important to tax administration and/or important for uniform and consistent treatment across the IRS. LB&I International Examiners, Engineers and Subject Matter Experts also assist in the examination of taxpayers’ financial transactions. Financial transactions include, but are not limited to, stocks, bonds, mortgages, foreign currency, commodities, options, forward contracts, futures contracts, swaps, and other financial derivatives. As part of the examination of a financial transaction, the Revenue Agent must understand and analyze the market price and financial
