Description

This is a Sources Sought notice issued solely for market research purposes in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. This notice is not a solicitation, Request for Quotations (RFQ), or Request for Proposals (RFP), and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for information submitted in response to this notice. The Financial Services Industry of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Large Business and International Division (LB&I) employees Revenue Agents who examine complex financial transactions engaged in by taxpayers. Financial Services Agents examine tax issues that are national in scope, significant in dollars, important to tax administration and/or important for uniform and consistent treatment across the IRS. LB&I International Examiners, Engineers and Subject Matter Experts also assist in the examination of taxpayers’ financial transactions. Financial transactions include, but are not limited to, stocks, bonds, mortgages, foreign currency, commodities, options, forward contracts, futures contracts, swaps, and other financial derivatives. As part of the examination of a financial transaction, the Revenue Agent must understand and analyze the market price and financial
