Description

Road upgrading work shall be implemented along 12 miles of Red Mountain Road. The road is a rural, dirt and aggregate-surfaced road in a steep, mountainous setting. Specific treatment sites and materials quantities are listed in Tables 1 and 2, respectively. Broadly, the work includes:¿ Site-specific upgrades at 12 sites along the road, treatments shall include:o Culvert replacementso Installation of rocked drivable rolling dips and critical dips (see Appendix A for diagrams)o Rock armoring of culvert fill slopes and inlet areaso Installation of rock base material on delineated road segments.¿ Two additional sites are provided as additive line items for potential additional work.Contractor is responsible for preparing the roadway for equipment access. This includes road brushing and road smoothing. Existing drainage features such as rolling dips shall not be disturbed unless approved by the
