requirements as the SEL-587Z. Provide discrete programmable automation controller with the following capabilities: Distributed Automation and Control – Provide a discrete programmable automation controller to perform high-speed monitoring, control, and automation of substation equipment using configurable logic, distributed input/output (I/O), and communications capabilities. Support bay control, equipment interlocking, alarm processing, and local automation functions. Discrete Input/Output – Provide configurable digital inputs and outputs for monitoring equipment status, controlling circuit breakers, disconnect switches, alarms, and auxiliary equipment. Support high-speed input processing and output operation for critical control applications. Communications and System Integration – Support integration with protective relays, SCADA systems, real-time automation controllers (RTACs), and intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) using industry-standard communications protocols as required. Reporting and Monitoring – Provide Sequential Events Recorder (SER), event logging, alarm indication, and diagnostic capabilities to document equipment status changes, control operations, and system events for post-event analysis and maintenance.
