The Department of Defense is procuring dry ice to support the operations of the 20th Medical Group at Shaw Air Force Base. The contract was intended to be a firm fixed price agreement for a base year and four option years, but the solicitation has been cancelled as the requirements can be met more efficiently through the DLA Electronic Catalog contract vehicle.
The contractor was to supply solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) and provide all necessary items, services, and delivery functions as described in the Statement of Work.
In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the Government hereby cancels Solicitation HT940626QE006 for Dry Ice Weekly Supply effective immediately. The Government has determined that its
requirements for these commercial supplies can be more efficiently and economically satisfied through the DLA Electronic Catalog (ECAT) contract vehicle. This decision is made in the best interest of the Government to maximize efficiency and leverage existing streamlined procurement systems. As this is a cancellation of a solicitation prior to award, the Government is not liable for any costs incurred by offerors in the preparation of their quotations or proposals. We appreciate your interest and the time invested in responding to this solicitation. We encourage you to monitor the SAM.gov website for future opportunities. This amendment is to correct the quantities in the base year and the Option periods - the quantities changed from 15,000 to 16,200 for CLINs 0001 to 4001 and 8,100 for CLIN 5001; and PWS' bullet point 3.2 has been changed from "To account for unexpected surges in demand, the quantity is adjusted by about 4% (600 pounds per year)." to "To account for unexpected surges in demand, the quantity is adjusted by 600 pounds per year." - No other changes have been made to the solicitation.
