Description

This requirement is for the Blanket Purchase Agreement Call for materials necessary for Navy Marine Readiness Training Command (NMRTC) Sigonella’s Laboratory Department’s Blood Bank.

The Laboratory Department’s Blood Bank Program supports inpatients’ needs, ships and other facilities.

The program requires materials for safe blood transfusions to render care to patients at U.S NMRTC Sigonella during surgery and childbirth in the event of blood loss.

The laboratory is also in charge of the blood depot for the entire European Theatre for contingency purposes.

Therefore, materials are also required to determine that all units received or processed are correctly identified prior to use in forward deployment and for shortages of blood for OCONUS European sites.

Given the critical nature of the testing performed and that the products required strict temperature control, a local supplier is required to ensure product integrity.
