Rehabilitate Gate Stems at Cherry Creek Dam

a previous incident involving the failure of the water packing gland on Service Gate Stem No. 1, a service contract was issued to replace the packing material and perform associated repairs. The scope of that contract included hydraulic hoist stem scoring repair, re-chroming, installation of a new wiper seal, and correction of a hoist brake leak. During contract modification, additional repair work was also completed on Gate Stems No. 3 and No. 4. After successful completion of these rehabilitation efforts, the Tri-Lakes Project . 2 and No. 5. This proactive measure is intended to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the intake service gates.
