Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT This is a new requirement for the 74th Fighter Generation Squadron to procure one (1) commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) laser etcher system. The primary purpose of this acquisition is to establish an in-house capability for engraving and marking various squadron assets, tools, and equipment. This function is critical for property accountability, serialization, and ensuring items are properly identified for both operational and maintenance purposes. The key technical specification driving this requirement is the mandatory need for the laser etcher to accommodate a workpiece with a minimum height of 12 inches. This is a "go/no-go" criterion based on the dimensions of critical squadron equipment that must be engraved. This is a supply acquisition, not a service. The requirement can be met by an existing commercial product without modification. Failure to acquire this COTS item would negatively impact the mission by forcing the squadron to outsource all engraving needs. This would lead to significant operational delays, increased costs, and reduced control over the timely preparation of mission-essential assets. 74FGS requires a laser engraver with the below minimum

requirements, without the below

requirements we will not be able to meet the mission needs layed out in AFI 21-101. Hand engravings do not last as long as laser engravings, which cuts down on the life span of our tools and hand engraving compromise the integrity of some materials. Product Minimum Needs: -Co2 and Fiber type lasers -Minimum 39"x24" Working Area (For Large Torque Wrenches and Breaker Bars), with a height adjustable bed for minimum height of 12" in depth. -Laser for metal etching (All types of Tool Steel hardest known: M43 Tool Steel/Chrome-moly) -Laser for engraving rubber, foam, plastic, acrylics, glass and wood. -Automatic laser section based on material engraved. -Exhaust Vent hookup 4" in diameter with 12.56" circumference. -Outlet power source is a 110V -Attachments that prevent items from shifting and rotational

attachments for cylindrical engraving. -Task Plate for engraving -Include design Software (ability to etch alpha numerics using current Windows OS) -On-Site Training (5 people trained on function and operation of etcher) -On-Site Installation (install of new system) -Camera System (able to line up and impose whats being etched onto tool) -Contact info for POC for maintenance needs and

questions. -Manufacturer warranty OPTIONAL- ability to etch with door open to be able to etch longer items. Caleb Burks Alternative
