The Department of Veterans Affairs Network

Contracting Office (NCO) 6, on behalf of the Durham VA Medical Center intends to enter into a sole source procurement with Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC, 1 North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10601 for Preventative Maintenance and Inspection on Zeiss Axio Scan Z1. The Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. The size standard is $34 million. The proposed contract action is to provide preventative maintenance, hardware/software support and repair service on Zeiss Axio Scan Z1 for a Base plus 2 Option years. The only company that can provide this service is Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC. This procurement is intended to be awarded based on a sole-source requirement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of RFO 6.103-1 (b), using the procedures under RFO 12.102 (a), Restricting Competition. This notice of intent is not a request for quotation. Interested parties may identify their interest in the requirement and capabilities to [email protected] no later than 10:00 AM EST, July 1, 2026. Telephone inquirers will not be accepted. Response to this announcement shall not to exceed 10 pages and should include the following information: (1) A tailored capability statement indicating the firm s ability to provide a product and related services; (2) The respondents DUNS number, organization name, address,

point of contact, and size and type of business (e.g., SDVOSB/VOSB, etc.) pursuant to the applicable NAICS code; (3) Information should be provided electronically in a Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no written response is received within the closing date of this notice, a sole source award will be given to Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC without any further notice. Disclaimer and Important Notes: This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response to this notice. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. Vendor shall be an OEM, authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller for the proposed medical supplies, medical equipment and/or services contracts for maintenance of medical equipment (i.e., replacement parts), verified by an authorization letter or other documents from the OEM such that the OEM s warranty and service are provided and maintained by the OEM. The delivery of gray market items to the VA in the fulfillment of an order/award constitutes a breach of contract. Accordingly, the VA reserves the right to enforce any of its contractual remedies. This includes termination of contract or, solely at the VA s discretion, allowing the Vendor to replace, at no cost to the Government, any remanufactured or gray market item(s) delivered to the VA medical facility upon discovery of such items.
