The Kansas City District, United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), has a need for the construction of four closure structures (two stoplog and two sandbag) located on both sides of two Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR)- owned bridges crossing the Armourdale (ARM; West side of the Kansas River) and Central Industrial District (CID; East side of the Kansas River) Levee Units.
The south bridge (UPRR #3) contains two sets of railroad tracks: Mainline Track No. 1 and Mainline Track No. 2.
The north bridge (MOPAC) contains two sets of railroad tracks: Track No. 3 and Track No. 202.
Floodwalls are to be constructed to the north and the south of the closure structures and tie into existing floodwalls on the ARM side.
Closure structures on the CID side connect to earthen levees.
Stoplogs and all stoplog components need to be fabricated for the project, and once construction of the stoplog closure structures is complete, a test-fit of the stoplogs across Mainline Track No. 1 and Mainline Track No. 2 is required.
