Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source – Submersible Electric pump rated for 20cfs @ 13.03 feet Total Dynamic Head (THD). NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District established a contract with MWI Corporation (CAGE 086C8), of 33 NW 2ND Street, Deerfield Beach, Florida, on a sole-source basis IAW FAR 13.501 (a)(1)(ii), including brand name, to purchase one (1) spare submersible pump manufactured by MWI Corporation. The original pumps were customed designed and manufactured by MWI Corporation. The pumps and associated pump cans were engineered as an integrated system; therefore, alternate pumps would not be compatible without modification. The geometry, tolerances, and hydraulic design components are unique to Pump Station S-703 and were engineered for the specific operational conditions of the facility. Based on the foregoing, MWI Corporation is determined to be the only responsible source. This requirement will be solicited using other than full and open competition in accordance with 13.501 (a)(1)(ii). No solicitation will be posted for this requirement. No telephone requests will be welcomed. The applicable North American Industry System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 333914 – Measuring, Dispensing, and Other pumping Equipment Manufacturing. If you have any
