The proposed contract requirement is for one Doppler Velocity Logger (DVL) in Support of the United States Naval Academy, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate a Firm, Fixed-Price contract with only one source, Nortek USA, Inc. under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all bids, proposals, or quotations received by the closing response date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Small Business . Quote submissions received after the stated submission deadline may not be considered for award. All business sources responsible may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. A determination has been made by the Government to award this proposed effort on sole source basis to Nortek USA, Inc.. This determination is solely within the discretion of the Government. Procedures in FAR Subpart 12.6, Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation of Commercial Items is applicable to this procurement. While price will be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final contract award will be based on a combination of factors-price and, if necessary, past performance.
