Description

The Airfields and Pavements Branch (APB) of the Geotechnical Structures Laboratory (GSL) US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is engaged in an ongoing force projection research and development program to rapidly repair craters on airfields. The USAF has requested ERDC evaluate Concretum Q-REP via full-scale testing. The material has previously passed laboratory testing protocol but now must be evaluated for large repairs. Concretum Q-REP is a high-performance, fast-setting, multipurpose concrete repair material. Q-REP is a blend of rapid-setting cement and quality aggregates. Q-REP is non-metallic, and no chlorides are added. Mix Q-REP with water to produce a workable, quality concrete material that is ideal where fast strength gain, high durability and low shrinkage are desired. Q-REP sets in approximately 30 minutes and is ready for traffic in 2 hours. As a part of this effort, Concretum will be responsible for shipping the product to ERDC in Vicksburg, MS. The award will be issued in accordance with FAR Overhaul 12.102(b). The applicable North American Industrial System Code (NAICS) code is 327310, Cement Manufacturing, with a size standard of 1,000 employees. This notice of intent is for information purposes only.
