The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is procuring the removal and replacement of approximately 53,000 square yards of existing Portland cement concrete pavement and 10,000 square yards of hot-mix asphalt at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, with new 18-inch and 12-inch PCC pavement and 1,800 square yards of new asphalt, all meeting stringent military airfield standards for aggregate durability, alkali-silica reactivity, and freeze-thaw resistance, along with associated joint sealing, pavement marking, and grading work.
Remove and replace approximately 53,000 square yards of existing PCC pavement with new 18-inch and 12-inch PCC, remove and replace 10,000 square yards of hot-mix asphalt with 1,800 square yards of new asphalt, install joint sealant, replace cathodic protection test pits, apply pavement markings, and perform minor grading at Minot AFB.
Mass Parking Apron Repair. This project is located at Minot AFB, North Dakota. This is a Fully-Designed Project. Project will include the following: Remove approximately 53,000 Square Yards of PCC pavement varying in thickness between 15 inches and 18 inches and replace with approximately 55,200 SY of 18-inch PCC pavement and 9,600 SY of 12-inch PCC. requirements for both fine and coarse aggregates, Air Force durability requirement that aggregate shall have a satisfactory service record in freezing and thawing of at least 5 years successful service in three concrete paving projects or aggregate with durability factor of 50 or more when subjected to freezing and thawing of specimens prepared in accordance with ASTM C 1646/C 1646M and tested in accordance with ASTM C 666/C 666M, Procedure A for aggregates not having a satisfactory demonstrable service record. Removal of approximately 10,000 Square Yards of 2-inch hot-mix asphalt pavement, 1,220 square yards of 6.5-inch hot-mix asphalt and replacing 1,800 SY of 6.5-inch hot-mix asphalt pavement conforming to UFGS 32 12 15.13 HOT-MIX ASPHALT AIRFIELD PAVING; Associated work includes the installation of preformed and poured joint sealant; removal and replacement of cathodic protection test pits; pavement marking; seeding and minor grading.
