Description

United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Seattle District, Seattle, WA intends to issue a sole-source, firm-fixed price award to Brooks Applied Labs, 13751 LAKE CITY WAY NE, STE 108, SEATTLE, WA 98125 USA LLC IAW FAR 12.102 (a).

This project is designed to provide defensible data for a new water quality criteria for the EPA, and an extremely low selenium detection level is required.

Low detection level selenium analysis is a highly specialized laboratory service that is offered by a limited number of labs in the United States.

Brooks Applied Labs is one of the few labs in the country to offer low level selenium analysis, it is located in the King County metro area in the city of Seattle Washington, and the lab is being used by the USGS, Montana DEQ and Teck to provide all other selenium data for this project since 2015.

Brooks Applied Lab is the only lab that will allow Seattle District Water Management to meet the requirement of providing comparable and compatible selenium data to MDEQ, USGS, Teck, and the EPA.

Use of Brooks Applied Labs would allow the Seattle District to collect water quality samples at Libby Dam and Albeni Falls Dam and be able to deliver the samples within strict holding times.
