This RFI is being issued to inquire about performing and servicing all portable fire extinguishers located at the Fort Greely, Alaska. The service contract covers the annual inspection, maintenance, and certification of portable fire extinguishers located at Fort Greely, Alaska, for the U.S. Army Arctic Regions Test Center (ARTC). All work must be performed in accordance with the publications cited in the Performance Work Statement (PWS), including NFPA 10, Portable Fire Extinguishers, and 29 CFR 1910.157, the OSHA standard governing portable fire extinguishers. The types of extinguishers vary by facility
requirements. Most buildings and vehicles use dry chemical extinguishers (Types ABC or K), while server rooms require CO₂ extinguishers. Maintenance
requirements differ by extinguisher type. All extinguishers must receive an annual visual inspection and tagging in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.157(e)(2).
