High-Density Array-Based Genotyping Analysis Services

Department of Defense (DoD) > Defense Health Agency (DHA)
est. $65K – $150K
Quick Brief

The Department of Defense is procuring genotyping analysis services for the Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine to assess the genome of soldiers participating in research studies. The vendor must provide large-scale, high-density array-based genotyping services for 648 DNA samples, utilizing the Illumina Global Diversity Array to support various genomic analyses. Key requirements include targeted measurement of millions of SNPs and the ability to facilitate high-resolution imputation for extensive genetic variant analysis.

Description

The US Army Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM) requires requires assessing the genome of soldiers who volunteer for research studies. The Military Nutrition Division requires a vendor capable of delivering large-scale, high-density array-based genotyping services for 648 DNA samples collected as part of the Military Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (MHANES). Genomics analysis (i.e., targeted measurement of millions of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms [SNPs] in the genome and assessment of specific SNPs) is required to support analyses in ongoing research studies. Genomic analysis of DNA using array-based genotyping enables targeted and reproducible measurement of hundreds of thousands to millions of known human variants and facilitates high-resolution imputation to tens of millions of additional variants. For this project, the Illumina Global Diversity Array (GDA), which includes approximately 1.8 million genome-wide markers, is required to support population genetic analyses, ancestry inference, polygenic score calculation, and genome-wide association studies (GWAS).
