The equipment and repairs will be delivered to the USGS Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF), Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for five years from the date of award.This hydrological equipment is an essential component of the USGS national stream gaging network, through which the USGS HIF supports numerous bureaus, federal agencies, tribal nations, state, and local agencies. This network and the data it produces is a major element of the overall mission of the USGS and represents investments of tens of millions of dollars over many years. YSI is the only company that manufactures and performance repairs and maintenance on its equipment and parts and therefore the only source that will meet the agency requirement.The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy the Agency
