BACKGROUND:The Confocal Imaging Facility (CIF) of the National Institute on Aging IRP has a VT-iSIM microscope with a relatively limited field of view (FOV). This upgrade will increase the FOV at 100x
objective 2.7-fold, a significant improvement. This larger FOV will have a broadband and homogenous illumination (Flatfield).These improvements will allow the CIF to maintain a state-of-the-art SIM superresolution system, so that NIA IRP core users will obtain the highest-quality SIM super-resolution images.NIA investigators will be able to continue implementing a broad range of experimental projects essential to the core mission of the NIA.
